Prayer

Prayer Requests

How can we pray for you? There are various ways of being included in prayer.  Your prayer request can be written in the church's prayer book and then read out in our Sunday services. It can also be passed to the prayer chain members who will hold your needs in their prayers.  If you wish, your prayer request can be passed directly to our minister. If you would like someone to contact you to meet and pray with you, someone from the church will be happy to do this. In all cases you can be reassured that God hears all prayers.

Prayer Chain

The prayer chain is an important part of the Methodist Church Chapeltown. Since its creation in 2013, we have received over 200 requests for prayer.

How does it work?

When a prayer request is received, the co-ordinators at the top of each of our prayer chains set the prayer in motion. There are currently three chains which work simultaneously to share the prayer request as quickly as possible. The simple message is agreed by the three co-ordinators before being passed along the chains. If someone is unavailable, a message will ask them to phone back – no prayer details are left on an answer machine as each message is held within the strictest confidence. The next person on the chain would then be contacted to ensure the prayer chain is not broken. Wherever possible, before a prayer chain is started, permission is sought from the person being prayed for. All members of the prayer chain recognise the privilege of prayer, the sensitivity of information they may receive and the confidentiality of all prayer requests. We thank God for this invaluable ministry and answered prayer.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
