Services

Sunday Morning Services

We meet for worship at the Methodist Church Chapeltown every Sunday at 10.30am. We enjoy services led by a variety of people including: our minister, Revd Jill Pullan, other circuit ministers, local preachers, worship leaders and groups from within the church. Services which include Holy Communion are normally held once a month, and all are welcome to take part. Children usually join the main congregation for the first part of all services. Sometimes we join together for full all age worship services. The church has a loop system to help those with hearing impairment join in our services.

During every morning worship, there is a crèche for babies and toddlers. The children worship with the congregation for the first part of the service, then usually after the second hymn, they go to their Sunday School groups. The Sunday School has groups for primary and secondary school aged children. After the service, we share a time of fellowship over a cup of tea and biscuits. We are a welcoming, mixed age, diverse congregation who will be delighted to see you.

Special Services

Services are held at the Methodist Church Chapeltown throughout the year. We celebrate special services including those around Christmas such as the Christingle service on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning worship. At Easter, there are a number of services throughout Holy Week and a celebration of the risen Christ on Easter Day. Services of Covenant, where we renew our commitment to faith in the coming year, and Remembrance, where we think about the lives of people known to us who have died, are also held annually.

Baptisms, weddings, blessings and funerals

At the Methodist Church Chapeltown, we welcome enquiries about baptism, wedding, blessing or funeral services in the church. Celebrations of baptism for a child or adult usually take place as part of a Sunday morning service. There is plenty of room for your friends and family to come and enjoy this special occasion with you. We would also welcome anyone who wishes to discuss getting married at the Methodist Church Chapeltown. If you would like to hold a funeral in our church, a celebration of a loved one's life, or would like to speak to someone about the end of a loved one's life, then please contact us to discuss how the Methodist Church Chapeltown can offer support at this difficult time.

Please contact Revd Jill Pullan who will be happy to discuss services within the church further.
