Sunday School

The Methodist Church Chapeltown runs a Sunday School and Crèche for children who attend Sunday morning worship in church. Usually, families stay together in worship until the end of the second hymn when the children are welcome to continue their learning about God, Jesus and the Bible in groups. The younger children attend the "Little Fishers" group where they enjoy stories, games and craft activities. Our older children have a separate Sunday School group to explore their understanding of the Christian faith. Each week the children will focus on a theme which is usually connected to the Sunday worship. Each group is organized and run by two church members*.

There is also a Crèche for babies and toddlers with a variety of stimulating toys and books. Parents are welcome to join their children in any of the groups.

If the church service includes Holy Communion, children are encouraged to return to their family to partake in this element of worship. Otherwise, they are collected at the end of the service.

The church also conducts ‘All Age Worship’ services which are suitable for all ages and children are welcome to stay in for the whole service. Crèche is still available during these services if parents would like to use it.
